Creamy Pelmeni Skillet

Pelmeni dumplings prepared in a creamy skillet sauce

Mushrooms and cream are a long-standing pairing in Russian and Eastern European home cooking, and pelmeni take to them easily. This one-skillet dinner is a modern shortcut rather than a traditional dish: quick, creamy, and a little more vegetable-forward than the classic bowl.

Serves 3–4 · 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 package Siberian Pelmeni
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup green beans, trimmed
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pelmeni according to package directions.
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter and sauté the mushrooms until golden.
  3. Add the green beans and cook for 3–4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and sour cream.
  5. Add the cooked pelmeni and gently toss to coat.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Serve hot.

Serving tip

Top with fresh dill and pair with a crisp salad or pickled vegetables.
