Siberian Pelmeni with Butter & Dill

Beef pelmeni with melted butter, sour cream and fresh dill

Siberian pelmeni are tied to long, cold winters. Families made them in bulk, froze them outdoors, and cooked them as needed, so a hot meal was never far away. Today the same logic applies to a bag in your freezer. Butter, dill, and black pepper is the whole recipe.

Serves 2–3 · 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 package Siberian Pelmeni
  • Water
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Fresh dill
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  2. Add a pinch of salt.
  3. Add the pelmeni to the boiling water.
  4. Stir gently and cook according to package instructions, usually 5–7 minutes, until they float to the top and are cooked through.
  5. Drain the pelmeni.
  6. Add the butter and toss gently.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh dill and black pepper.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy.

Serving tip

Serve with sour cream for extra creaminess.
