Potato and cheese pierogies served with traditional toppings

Perogies (pierogi in Polish, varenyky in Ukrainian) are filled dumplings found throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Potato and cheese is one of the best-loved fillings, and butter-fried onions are the classic finish. This is food for family tables and holidays, easy to put together on a weeknight.
